I've had this problem somewhat recently in the past too with New Vegas and getting mods like Project Nevada to work, I was able to get a work around by installing it manually but this time around that's not gonna cut it. Moslty because there is no NXM. Assassin Are you running both your browser and NMM as administrator? It should allow you to assosiate the nxm links to NMM, if you do. Nexus Mod Manager is an application designed and created exclusively for this type of operation. It also supports Skyrim to make it easier to manage and install mods or any other custom files.

Download another copy of the application and make sure the Skyrim game is properly installed on your computer or it won't work. Do yourself a favour and grab Mod Organizer using the manual download links.
