Does anyone know the name of the artist for the art on the cover of this? It's not credited anywhere in the pdf. I would prefer to still buy it than take one of the homebrew copies that people have posted up there. I redact my previous statement after realising that BadEye, the author of the homebrew one's, is infact Adam Bradford, the author of this pdf. I already paid for this on DND Beyond but can no longer find it anywhere one the site.
I am disappointed to have to purchase it a second time. They are up for free on DnD Beyond homebrew. Just sort by Author and search BadEye. Any thoughts on a new set of these for Races from Eberron and Ravnica?
Is the full-size preview not working for anyone else? Are these feats Adventurer's League legal? If so, do they count as a separate source or are they part of Xanthar's Guide when considering source material? I've located the answer to my own question, this is not AL legal.
This makes me so angry! But now they're available as separate content?! I'm sure someone will argue that "it doesn't state that its exclusive content" or whatever, but when its framed as a "preorder bonus" that heavily implies that you need to get it before release or you'll miss it. That's what makes me so angry! Take a breath and relax. So, I am not sure how you wasted any money?? That makes zero sense. The bonus feats were just an incentive to get you to pre-order, rather than waiting to buy Xanathar's guide later.
And, again, you GOT These feats for free with your pre-order. You seem to be ranting and raving without even knowing what you are talking about it. See more you are telling me you only bought Xanathar's Guide simply to get these mediocre bonus racial feats, then you are crazy because that purchase decision is illogical under any circumstances. To clarify: Yes I did indeed buy the digital copy of Xanathar's Guide for the sole reason of not missing out on the preorder feats.
Why I did it: I could not find any information that stated that the preorder feats would be available by any other means other than some few comments on forums assuming that it would be available separately, but I'd never count random forum comments as facts. This assumption isn't unfounded since this business strategy happens in gaming from time to time.
Why I "wasted money" is because I always get the physical copy of the books and I'll do the same for Xanathar's it's simply what I prefer. Obviously in retrospect that wasn't the case since now, after the preorder period, that content is sold separately above and I'd gladly See more have payed the price above instead.
You know these are homebrew though, right? It's not like pre-order bonuses for video games where the content is official content made by the game creators; it's more like a book store printing off their own custom page of feats and giving it to anyone who buys a book from their store. The Tortle reaction racial doesn't actually work, since it doesn't provide any circumstances in which the Reaction can be used. Also, it's worded quite weirdly, as a creature that gained the benefit from the reaction still retains that benefit when they move away from the Tortle.
Excellent point, and not the intent. I've updated the feat with the reaction trigger and positioning. It was updated too, but it takes a little while sometimes for the changes to filter through caching. Should be good to go now or soon. Are these the same feats that are provided when you preorder Xanathar's Guide?
Was extremely pleased to see this available as a separate item for purchase, as I have purchased a physical copy of Xanathar's. Patrick T. This product wasn't the best, but I don't think it was a waste of my money.
The feats that do work, are nice additions to those races. I feel like the Triton, Firbolg, Kenku and Goliath feats are the best of this set; they are good, w [ James B. Grace L. Customers Who Bought this Title also Purchased. Reviews Please log in to add or reply to comments.
My POD copy arrived today and I am loving it! All the typos from the PDF are still there, unfortunately, but this isn't a dealbreaker for me on this wonderful book. I plan on purchasing a PoD if they ever decide to deign us with an update to correct many of the errors in the book.
I feel a bit cheated there. Content of the book is great but that was a high price to pay for a book that is only pages and has several mistakes. They should take the POD version down until they fix it. October 27, am UTC. Is there a good place to start an errata list for this product? For example, on p. If Boo take damage, Minsc can choose to take the damage instead. If Boo takes damage, Minsc can choose to take the damage instead.
You can find it at the end of the review here. There are some proofreading issues, but the content is good if you can get past that. Thinking about getting this, but I hear it is full of errors, typos Is this fixed? This book is great, but its very much a sword coast guide. It was a better read than I expected and had a ton of new and old lore and good monster stat blocks.
If you love the old baldurs gate pc games or run games in the sword coast; this book is for you, and is Miniature giant space hamster approved. I run mostly Eberron. Is this very specific to the forgotten realms or sword coast? Would I find lots of use for Eberron or other campaigns? Might be able to get some use out of the Group Patrons and Arch Villains if you "re-brand" them a little. Change names and associations to more Eberron specific names and groups.
Would it be possible to get high res versions of the maps included in this book? WotC hasn't responded to any comments here. I doubt you'll get any answer to this unfortunately. You might be able to open up the maps page in Illustrator and then export it to a larger size.
I would gladly buy it again, let us double down and support charity more WoTC! They haven't made that clear but I'd lean towards no. Even with WotC publishing it. I think its more of a fun take on these characters. I wouldn't get to hung up on it, WotC is weird about canon in 5e and have taken a 'let the customer decide approach' to their multiverse. I'd put the chances at better than even.
Much of this is a significant re-write of a DMsguild supplement 'Heroes of Baldur's Gate' James released in under his Arcanum Worlds publishing venture. Where the the older book rehashed what was already known from the first two games this evolves the characters forward filling in a lot of growth gaps with compelling new stories and potential future plot hooks.
They are so compelling in fact that I wouldn't be surprised to see some if not all of it show up in BG3 or future BG releases at which point it's basically canon. The timing would seem to support it with James' team and Larian now working under the WotC See more umbrella there aren't any legal barriers to prevent James from providing consult on these characters, groups and plot hooks.
They fit almost too well into what I'd expect to see in a game calling itself by that name. Lastly I have a soft spot for Imoen and I love the way they've taken her here from a story standpoint, so it's now canon in my campaign if nothing else.
I know this was taken down for a day or two. Does anyone know why, or if they updated the spellcaster stat blocks to use the new method of reducing spells and making some abilities? We don't know why. Would people mind posting pictures of the softcover and hardcover printings to see how they look? I don't have it with me now, but the hardcover looks pretty much just like a WotC hardcover, except for the slight size increase that you get with a PoD book.
NewbieDM posted a couple photos. Ask him for more on Twitter. Greg O. I've been disapointed with a number of WOC PDF as opposed to the books products before that were way overpriced for what they had in them but not this time. Minsc and Boo: Undermountain the Musical was a joy to read even if it really [ John L. An awesome book full of useful information for a DM. Great patrons, villains, updated lore for major cities some of them gasp not on the Sword Coast.
